I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)

Released: 27th July 2009

Positiva are proud to announce the signing of US smash hit "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)" by Pitbull.   The record has just peaked on the US Billboard Top 100 chart at #4 and the Soundscan Single Chart at #2.   It has sold just under 1 Million records in the US to date.

"I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” is an infectious club anthem.  It cleverly meshes  Reggaeton with a 4/4 House beat.  At its  core is an acoustic guitar, an infectious rhythm and the brass section sampled from Chicago's ‘Street Player (also sampled by  The Bucketheads on "The Bomb").  Italy’s Nicola Fasano vs. Pat-Rich took the sample creating the track “75 Brazil Street” and then mashed it with Pitbull’s vocals.  They created this massive US hit that looks set to do the same in the rest of the world.

Growing up with the works of Cuban poet Jose Marti, Pitbull, also known by his fans as Mr. 305, blends his early lyrical influences with a Miami Bass sound.  Pitbull made his debut on the 2002 Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz album "King of Crunk," and hasn’t stopped since. After appearing on The Fast and the Furious soundtrack in 2004, he released his debut album "M.I.A.M.I. "featuring the hit single “Culo” featuring Lil Jon.  Pitbull was soon unstoppable, dropping two more albums in two years: "El Mariel" in 2006 and "The Boatlift" in 2007.  He has also collaborated with some of the biggest names in the business  including Lil Jon, Wyclef Jean, Carlos Ponce, Rick Ross, Don Omar, and Ying Yang Twins.  He’s featured on numerous singles, including Daddy Yankee's "Gasolina" remix, DJ Khaled’s “Holla at Me" also featuring Lil Wayne, Paul Wall and Rick Ross, as well as the Ying Yang Twins' hit “Shake.”  In 2008, Mr. 305  continued to drop hits, releasing  Krazy” featuring Lil Jon.
