Interview with Kleerup

Swedish based Kleerup was half of the act responsible for Robyn's number 1 hit single, 'With Every Heartbeat'. A massive star in his native home, Kleerup has also collaborated with Lykke Li, Marit Bergman, and Titiyo (features on his debut dingle for Positiva records).
We took the time to find out a little bit more about this rising
star; what makes him tick, what's the best advice he's been given and
what's currently on the all important iPod.
The Positiva Records Ten with Kleerup1. What was your first big breakthrough as an act? As an "act", the obvious response has to be "With Every Heartbeat". But behind those three minutes it took me 25 years to get to this wonderful, calm and exciting area that is: Be Here Now.2. What do you see as your main strengths as a producer?Making the people i work with feel relaxed - I always start with getting a good connection happening.3. What's the key to getting noticed?Be yourself. Plus hanging out with good-looking girls!4. What’s the most ridiculous promotional thing you’ve done?Nothing really. I find that if you stand out and don´t take sh!t from people you can be viewed as a megalomaniac and that sucks.5. What is the most interesting comment you have heard about your music?Actually, just recently i did an interview with Metro London and got a lot of good questions. It felt like i was understood right away and the comments were all spot on, that’s rare.6. Is there something that you don’t like about this scene or things that pissed you off along the way?If you refer to the producer/artist scene no, it’s probably the easiest and most honest way to earn a living and being able to eat out and drink Chablis every night!A lot of things have pissed me off but I’ve just turned 30 and have a kid on the way so i´m cool and life is good.7. If you ever walk around the house in pants and slippers and what do you listen to?Usually Steve Reich, Fleetwood Mac or Leonard Cohen; Calming stuff. Either that or I just enjoy the silence.8. What is the best thing, and the worst thing about the dance music scene? The best thing is it’s creative as Hell. The worst thing is being around too many drunk people who didn’t get certain things out of their system when they were teenagers.9. What is the top five most listened to tracks/songs on your iPod?Hmmmmm. Usually i go to bed with the stuff I’ve worked on that day. I go to sleep with my iPod on and let the music get into my soul. Otherwise Air and Boards Of Canada always comforts me.10. What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given? None actually. Coming from a long period of depression now life is smiling at me and that´s more than I ever expected - after that nothing scares you, except my shark-phobia! I guess the advice I follow comes from investing time in working out why my life didn´t work. I never really got advice other than to just kept the train rolling. Oh, and clean underwear is good!

Lead single from Kleerup, and debut on Positiva, 'Longing For Lullabies' featuring Tityo is available to donwload from May 17th.
Watch the video here

Release News: Positiva to release Kleerup single

Swedish act Kleerup was half of the act responsible for Robyn's number 1 hit single, 'With Every Heartbeat'. A massive star in is native home having won no less than three awards at Sweden's 2009 Grammis music awards, as well as Robyn Kleerup has collaborated with Lykke Li, Marit Bergman, Titiyo.
Featuring Titiyo, his debut for Positiva will be the warm and melancholic 'Longing For Lullabies'.
Full Press Release
Kleerup was half of the act responsible for the number 1 hit single,
'With Every Heartbeat'. The other half was of course the feisty
asymetrically fringed Robyn . His melancholic electro-pop framed
Robyn's ballad about break-up perfectly and secured it as one of the
most prolific pop moments of 2007. As they wrote the song together
they agreed call it 'Robyn with Kleerup' on her album and 'Kleerup with
Robyn' on his album.
He is already a massive star in is native home having won no less
than three awards (Best Newcomer, Best Composer and Best Producer) at
Sweden's 2009 Grammis music awards recently (the equivalent of our
Brits).
Ok, so he's huge back home, is mates with Robyn and has had a number
one single in the UK. So what you may ask. Well this bearded lothario
with grungy locks is about to embark on another assault of our shores
with his own self-titled album.
'Kleerup' features collaborations with Lykke Li, Marit Bergman,
Titiyo (Neneh Cherry's younger sister) and the of course includes his
hit collaboration with Robyn. Kleerup's songs are a mixture of his
familiar formula of electronica and Swedish female vocal. Good thing
this is a formula with proven results as each one is pure electro-pop
perfection.
The lead single with Titiyo, 'Longing For Lullabies' encapsulates
his warm and melancholic sound flawlessly. On the flip side emotive
'Until We Bleed', Kleerup draws a surprisingly warm performance from
the blog friendly Lykke Li. Plus there's a host of remixes that beef
it up for the dancefloor from.
CD1.
Positiva Records sign McLloyd’s ‘Tembisa Funk’ from Sheer Music

Positiva have picked up the underground bubbler that is McLloyd’s ‘Tembisa Funk’. Currently on promo for Miami and Ibiza, this little gem has picked up early support in the UK and Europe.Signed from Sheer Music, the South African label that brought Mujava ‘Township Funk’ into the world, ‘Tembisa Funk’ is building a fine head of steam across blogs and tastemaker DJ charts alike. The track has all the potential to bring South African dance music, and specifically the township/street house style from which it comes, to further worldwide attention.McLloyd (aka Mackson Makola and Lloyd Mathabathe) are renowned in SA for their aggressive bass lines, combining these with their knack for big hooks and a creative production approach that fuses African beats and rhythms to 21st century electronica.Already individual producers and DJs of note, Mack and Lloyd’s collaborative work under their McLloyd guise, including ‘Tembisa Funk’, ‘Esteem’, and others, has afforded them numerous awards and ‘most played record on national radio’ acclaim. Coupled with a busy touring schedule – both live and DJ - across the region, and you have an outfit at the forefront of the South African electronic music explosion. McLloyd’s debut artist album, to be released later this year, is a body of work that will propel them further into the global dance scene. Positiva’s package includes standout re-rubs from Jokers Of The Scene, Paolo Mojo, and Baggi Begovic and will be released digitally on 6th April 2009.

The Positiva 10 with Cozi Costi

After being discovered and initially managed by Jamiroquai, Cozi Costi has co-written with a host of the industry's most proven artists. 'Fireworks' (with Sucker DJs) was released on Toolroom Records in early 2007 hitting no.1 in the Buzz Chart, and she also co-wrote the lyrics for 'Counting Down The Days' by the Sunfreakz, a hit for Positiva in 2006.
Cozi's has recently collaborated with David Guetta ('Baby When The Light' on his 'Poplife' album), Jerry Ropero on "The Storm" and Phonjax on 'Sensual' but now it's time for her to answer the Positiva 10...
What was your first big breakthrough as a performer? Featuring on “Baby When The Light” with David Guetta and singing in front of 250,000 on first gig with David in Paris 2007. – very scary but exhilarating. What do you see as your main strengths as a singer/songwriter? I’ve been told I have a distinctive voice and as a writer I love melodies and to write for many genres. What's the key to getting noticed? It’s a hard question, but first and foremost its about the music, so I would say a good song/track is the beginning. What’s the most ridiculous promotional thing you’ve done? I haven’t had anything too ridiculous – yet :) - But having a flight cancelled in Ukraine and having to drive 10hrs and go on stage straight a way wasn’t as pleasant an experience as it could have been... However the gig ended up being really enjoyable thoughWhat is the most interesting comment you have heard about your music? That some couple’s have made ‘sweet music’ while listening to my songs makes me blush every time!Is there something that you don’t like about this scene or things that pissed you off along the way? We all have great experiences and some times less great experiences, we learn and move on from there. At the end of the day I think good music is the most important part, if its dance, pop or whatever it doesn’t matter as long as it great. If you ever walk around the house in pants and slippers and what do you listen to? Curtis Mayfield never fails to chill me out. Or anything instrumental...What is the best thing, and the worst thing about the dance music scene? The best thing is to perform and to listen to uplifting happy music. Worst: Some of it can be repetitive & soulless. What are the top five most listened to tracks/songs on your iPod? The Avalanches – Since I Left YouMoby – GoMGMT - Electric FeelGroove Armada – Get DownCurtis Mayfield – So In Love. What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given? Enjoy what you do. Find something you’re good at & pursue it.

If you enjoyed reading Cozi's Positiva 10 and missed out on some of the earlier ones, you can still read them by clicking on the names below.
Julian Napolatino (Soul Seekerz / JDS)
Pete Gooding
Simon Langford (Dreamcatcher / Soul Seekerz)
Phonjaxx

The Positiva 10 with Simon Langford

At the heart of Soul Seekerz are Julian Napolitano (JDS, Perpetual Motion) and Simon Langford (Dreamcatcher), with their latest single 'Reach Fo The love' smashing it in clubs and
due out on positiva in Febuary, we thought we'd catch up with Simon Langford get him to aswer the Positiva 10...The Positiva Records Ten
1. What was your first big breakthrough as an act?I guess it would probably have been our first Soul Seekerz single that we did with Dannii Minogue back in 2005. That was really what started to define the Soul Seekerz sound. Of course it has changed and developed a lot since then, but that was when we really started to find our feet.2. What do you see as your main strengths as a producer?Patience...infinite patience!!! When things go wrong, and they often do, it is all too easy to lose the vibe of what you are working on. But patience, and a good memory of what I have been doing for the last hour, has MANY times been a saviour after a nasty computer crash (and yes...we DID forget to save the file regularly!)3. What's the key to getting noticed?Avoid gimmicks I would say! That may help in the short term but it also puts a very short “shelf-life” on what you do. Just stick to what you are good at, and know what you are good at. I would say that honesty with yourself is the key to getting noticed. Learn your strengths and weaknesses and focus on the good parts and get good at hiding the bad! Hah!4. What’s the most ridiculous promotional thing you’ve done?Fortunately I have never really been called upon to do anything ridiculous. But I am sure it will happen at some point! Just in case any record labels are reading this...if I ever sign a track to you...I think it would be really ridiculous to get me on a beach with 20 girls in bikinis to make a video...but I will do it if I really HAVE to!5. What is the most interesting comment you have heard about your music?Oh dear! I don’t actually think that would be considered “acceptable”...unless you put a “Parental Advisory” notice on this interview! Hehe! For the most part people fall in to one of two “camps”; either they like what you do in which case they are generally complimentary, perhaps they offer constructive criticism, or just say that they like it, or, if they don’t like it, they tend to be much more...hmmm...”concise” with their opinions! They usually take the form of “What a load of (insert favourite curse here)!!!” But for the most part...people have been pretty kind!6. Is there something that you don’t like about this scene or things that pissed you off along the way?I guess that one thing that I don’t really like is the pigeonholing that goes on and the expectations that some people have. If you make funky house then you can’t do electro...if you do electro then you can’t do bassline...etc. I really don’t think that is productive and I don’t think it helps the industry as a whole...but it’s been that way for so long that I doubt it will change now. It’s one of the many things I WOULD change if I was omnipotent for a day! ;)7. If you ever walk around the house in pants and slippers and what do you listen to?Haha...do it all the time!! But when I am in that kind of mode...in “downtime”...I generally listen to anything that ISN’T “dance”! Favourites of the moment include Norah Jones (who has a STUNNING voice by the way!), Brad Paisley (good old country boy) and opera and classical. Anything that can clear my earns of that relentless 4/4 beat really.8. What is the best thing, and the worst thing about the dance music scene? The best thing about it is the fun you get to have and the feeling you get when you see people really enjoying themselves listening to your music! There really isn’t any feeling like that in the world. Well...maybe ONE! ;) And I have to say that otherwise my girlfriend will probably cut a part of me off! The worst thing...hmmm...not really sure. I guess there are times when you have to balance up what you really want to do with what is actually best for you (in terms of your career)...and I guess that there are more “stable” jobs in the world. But on the whole...I wouldn’t change a thing!9. What are the top five most listened to tracks/songs on your iPod?Am I the only person in the world who doesn’t actually OWN an iPod?!? Well...on my iTunes on my Mac they are:
Norah Jones – Turn Me OnBrad Paisley – She’s EverythingCyndi Lauper – True ColoursPrince – Purple RainU2 – One
And yeah...I know...before you say anything...not really what you expected...right?10. What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

Back at the start of the decade, Simon also released tracks Positiva under his alter-ego, Dreamcatcher and had hits with the tracks 'I Don't Wanna Lose My Way' and 'Twisted'.
>>> As we continue to try and learn a little bit more about Positiva artists old and new we catch up with Phonjaxx.
Phonjaxx Positiva 10 will publish on 19th January.
Soul Seekers ft. Judy Cheeks 'Reach For The Love' is available to download from February 9th, 2009.

The Positiva 10 with Pete Gooding

Fresh from the Beatport no.1 success of 'Runnin', the massive forthcoming collaboration between James Doman and Pete Gooding, we ask Pete to give us his answers to the Positiva 10...
1. What was your first big breakthrough as an act? Making the tracks and really believing in them ourselves was the first step, next was playing them out and watching them getting huge reactions. Then on from there, signing with Positiva and achieving number 1 on Beatport for 2 weeks, as now everyone has heard of us as 'Doman & Gooding' as a result of that, which is a great start!2. What do you see as your main strengths as a producer?Having ideas and a good understanding of what works on the dance floor, also a good knowledge of music going back 30 years is always invaluable to be able to draw upon for ideas. And remembering to have fun in the studio, if you have a good chemistry with the people you work with, it will really help what you create.3. What's the key to getting noticed? For me, keeping busy, for example, i have a weekly radio show, I have written for music magazines for 12 years, been a club promoter, label owner, remixer, producer, DJ, etc. You have to do as much as possible to get your name out there, but these days production seems to be the most effective way to get noticed.
4. What’s the most ridiculous promotional thing you’ve done?I'd probably be too embarrassed to do anything novelty or ridiculous to promote something, but we haven't made our music video yet for 'Runnin', so maybe that will be it! lol.5. What is the most interesting comment you have heard about your music?Well I was pretty impressed when Deep Dish told me they loved my mix of De'lacy 'Hideaway' back in 2005 and that they were playing it out, considering they did the classic version of it back in 1995 I was really flattered. Also Laurent Garneir and Sasha supported No Logo 'Dark Star', a track me and Afterlife released recently on Urbantorque, so for other DJs I have been influenced by and admire to be so constructive was great, but in general there have been countless amazing comments about all the Doman & Gooding tracks on Youtube, Facebook and Myspace as well, which is really interesting and encouraging.6. Is there something that you don’t like about this scene or things that pissed you off along the way? Not really, I fell in love with House music and clubbing in 1989 in Ibiza when i was 15 years old and have had a great time ever since, so there is nothing to be pissed off about, I consider myself to be very lucky to have done what I love for a living for the last 15 years. There is one thing i hate though, being terrified of flying, and as i do it every week, it's a bit of a nightmare for me, i'm actually writing this on a flight from Slovenia to Switzerland, just to take my mind off it, help!7. If you ever walk around the house in pants and slippers and what do you listen to? It's either Deep House, from the likes of Robert Babicz and Martin Buttrich and what I would call mid tempo, like Aeroplane or Ladyhawke through to Electronica from acts like: Octogon and Flying Lotus, basically the kind of stuff I put in my radio show The Global Network.8. What are the best thing, and the worst thing about the dance music scene? The best thing is seeing everyone have a great time and seeing an amazing atmosphere in a club, e.g. I was at Matter, the new club inside the o2 in London last week as i have my own regular night in room 2, but in the main room Paul Van Dyk was on, now he doesn't play what i'm into to be honest, but he absolutely smashed the place and it was so busy, it was mind blowing to see such an incredible vibe in a room! Then on the other hand, the worst is watching a DJ play to himself and not giving the people a good night and their money's worth, that's just wrong, and not what it's all about.9. What is the top five most listened to tracks/songs on your iPod?1. Brian Eno - Thursday Afternoon2. Gwen Guthrie - Seventh Heaven3. Lil Louis - French Kiss4. Octogon - Sunset Over Tao5. Frank Sinatra - Rain or Shine10. What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given? Don't eat yellow snow!

>>> As we continue to try and learn a little bit more about Positiva artists old and new we catch up with one half Soul Seeker and former Positiva alter-ego, Dreamcatcher, Simon Langford
Simon Langford's Positiva 10 will publish on 5th January.
Doman & Gooding 'Runnin' is due for release February 2009.

Positiva and Defected Records have announced a joint-venture deal for the release of Axwell & Bob Sinclar feat. Ron Caroll’s ‘What A Wonderful World’.
Tipped as one of the biggest crossover dance records of 2008, ‘What A Wonderful World’ will receive a full release on 29th September (digital release 22nd September) on Positiva/Defected. ‘What A Wonderful World’ has already received considerable radio support from Radio 1’s Zane Lowe (‘Hottest Record In The World’) and Pete Tong (‘Essential New Tune’), Galaxy’s Sarah Main, and more, as well as club exposure from some of dance music’s biggest names.

This is the first time Positiva and Defected have joined forces, mirroring the collaboration between both labels’ respective stars; Axwell has given Positiva chart hits including ‘Watch The Sunrise’ and 2007’s ‘I Found U’, while Frenchman Bob Sinclar has spent 8 highly successful years with Defected, enjoying Top 10 success with hits including ‘World Hold On’ and ‘Rock This Party’.The joint Swedish and French production comes with vocals courtesy of American singer/songwriter, Ron Carroll, responsible for house music staples such as ‘My Love’ and ‘Lucky Star’, and the man who wrote the lyrics to Barbara Tucker’s ‘Get Lifted’, a hit for Positiva in the mid-1990’s.Positiva director, Jason Ellis, said:“Ax & Bob have delivered the feel good hit of the summer, and we're delighted to be working alongside our friends at Defected Records to help secure its success in the UK.” Defected’s CEO, Simon Dunmore, said:“With the significant noise that ‘Wonderful World’ was making it was obviously going to be a competitive deal. Both artists have enormous loyalty to their labels so rather than the labels competing against each other the joint venture was the way to go. The buzz on the record is incredible so it is great to have twice the resources to get behind an exceptional collaboration.

Euro-dance, Youtube and beyond: Velvet leads the charge

Euro-pop’s biggest star, Velvet, unleashes her debut UK single, ‘Fix Me’.With the genre currently storming the charts with every release, euro-pop with a Scandi bent is fast replacing r&b as the UK’s Saturday night music of choice. Leading the charge is Swedish chanteuse, Velvet. At home, Velvet has outsold fellow Scandinavian pop heroine, September, by some margin, becoming a Youtube phenomenon in the process (over 1,000,000 views for her original 'Fix Me' video - see it on her official site), and with Viking-like zeal, she’s about to conquer the UK (though she’s promised pillaging will be kept to a minimum).Velvet has already notched up several pan-European hits, including ‘Deja vu’ (No.2 in Sweden), ‘Mi Amore’ and ‘Don’t Stop Movin’’, while her debut album, ‘Finally’, has cemented her status as Sweden’s pop-queen de jour. Her current hit-in-waiting, ‘Fix Me’, is already a resort anthem over in the Med’, and is now one of the most requested tracks across mainstream UK clubland.Born Jenny Pettersson, Velvet grew up in the southern Sweden city of Helsingborg. As a teenager she moved to Stockholm to study at The Ballet Academy. Then as a student, she began working as a singer at Stockholm nightclubs to pay for her studies. Singing soon took over her life, and she became a backing vocalist for prestigious Swedish acts like Carola and E-Type.Velvet kick-started her solo career with the singles ‘(Rock Down To) Electric Avenue’ (a club take on the Eddy Grant reggae classic) and ‘Don’t Stop Movin’’ (originally by UK act Livin’ Joy), both became huge club and radio hits all over mainland Europe. ‘Fix Me’ trumped September’s ‘Cry For Me’ in Scandinavia, and is set to repeat its success over here.Mixes come from Gorgeous George, Spencer & Hill, Hypasonic, Flip & Fill, Jaimeson and Paleface.'Fix Me' is due available from 21st July

Influenced by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Ella Fitzgerald and Curtis Mayfield through to Jose Gonzales and Massive Attack via Prince, Sade and Annie Lennox, Cozi is widely recognized for her beautiful delivery. In anticipation of it's release date, now the 7th April, Toca's Miracle can boast playlisting across all key radio networks including Radio 1, Kiss FM, Captial London, the GCap One Network (Music Control) and the Galaxy Network, helping to drive a play increase of over 20% (airplay this week jumps up to no.80).The promo video - which leaves little to the imagination - will be available for online hosting from March 13th, having by then received it's Online premier via Yahoo! UK & Ireland. Elsewhere in TV land the video has received great initial support with playlist additions from MTV Dance, The Box and Flaunt!, plus spot-play support on Smash Hits!. With the original cut being deemed too risque for daytime television, we now have two versions (daytime and night-time), available upon request. A preview to the video using an image from the behind-the-scenes picture shoot is attached.Elsewhere club support remains strong. Despite moving into commercial territory, the dominance of Toca's Miracle in clubland hasn't been ignored. The cream of the nation's DJs charted the record as their 'top tune' awarding the track the highest of dance record accolades; no.1 spots in both the Music Week Club & Pop Charts and the DMC Club & Mainstream Charts.

'The Journey Continues' Acoustic Version - stripped down and sounding stunning!

Another chapter in the evolving story of 'The Journey Continues' unfolds as St Etienne's Sarah Cracknell and classically trained soprano Jane Sheldon joined forces once more to record a breathtakingly sublime acoustic version of the much loved track (first featured in the Lloyds TSB adverts). In a tiny studio in central London, 'The Journey Continues' lived up to its name and took on new life as a stripped down, quietly beautiful interpretation of the hugely popular dance version currently gracing Radio 1's A-list. To see Sarah introducing the track, be one of the first to hear her insider exclusives on breaking St Etienne news (which famous producer is currently working on their new single?!) and to check out exclusive footage of Sarah and Jane in the studio, not to mention hear an exclusive pre-release listen of the acoustic mix in its entirety, watch this space as we'll be publishing the link to this content early next week...

Last week London's Capital FM confirmed 'The Journey Continues' will be fully added to their playist after weeks of strong support via spot-plays. Building on this support, BBC's Radio 1 today announced that the record, featuring Sarah Cracknell on vocals, will rise to their A-list, recognising the potential for the record to strike a hit in the charts when it's fully released on the 4th February. Such support has been echoed by Radio 1's larger partner station, Radio 2, which also added Mark Brown's reworking of the Lloyds TSB ad music onto their C-list. With a combined listening audience in excess of 23 million, we can expect a dramatic leap in the radio airplay chart from the record's current position of no.127.In TV land, keen to satisfy audiences interest in seeing the stunning video for 'The Journey Continues' (links below), playlist additions were announced by The Box, The Hits, and Smash Hits!

It's official, winter has landed,

But don't hang up your disco boots just yet, the clocks may have gone back but the nights are getting longer and that can only mean one thing; party season is nearly upon us. To get you well and truly in the mood, the thunderous ragga-house anthem, "Like This, Like That" from Se:sa is out this week, available from i-tunes, HMV and all other reputable record stockists! In other exciting news, Filo & Peri's aptly named ˜Anthemâ has been added to the Radio 1 c-list 5 weeks ahead of release! Scott Mills has christened it his record of the week and itâs going down a storm in clubs all over the world. Flagged as one of the top 4 tracks of 2007 by number 1 DJ Armin Van Buuren, 'Anthem' is getting a hammering on the decks from some of dance musics elite, Pete Tong, Judge Jules, Riley & Durrant, Lange, Eddie Halliwell and our very own Paul van Dyk. Scheduled for release in December, could this be the track that gives whatever anodyne offering X Factor spews up a run for it's money?? Trance Vs. the musical equivalent of Angel Delight?! Bring it on. Dominic and Bo (a.k.a. Filo & Peri), and Eric Lumiere (guest vocalist on 'Anthem) are currently in the UK filming the accompanying video to their chart debut.. more news on this soon. We managed to hook up with the guys on set and film a very special video interview, to hear their thoughts on the top 100 DJ result, their least favourite record and what they have to say to trance fans who accuse them of selling out, visit www.trance.nu from Sunday 25th November. Finally, we can now confirm that 'Let Go', the 2nd single from the latest Paul van Dyk album, In Between', will be released on December 10th. Directed by Shaun Drake and shot in down town Los Angeles, the accompanying video is a fitting visual interpretation of Paul's polished production. In a nutshell, it looks great. Shaun Drake is renowned in his field, responsible for such video feats as Timbalands 'The Way I Are', Paramore's 'Crushcrushcrush' and Panic! At the Disco's 'I Write Sins and Tragedies', for which he won the 2006 MTV Video Music Award for Best Director. Check it out for yourself at www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgcMJXE9tYI

It then went on to be raised to the Radio 1 B-list and added to the Capital playlist. Elsewhere the video jumped from no.60 on the TV airplay charts to No.27 and got added to EMAP's 'The Hits' playlist.
Mr DJ', digitally released this week, sees a collaboration between Charlean Dance, legendary producer, Sticky, and Count De Money and is well-known at street level as one of the spearhead anthems paving the way for the UK's hottest new genre, Dirty Pop. Already the subject of much debate following recent media coverage and heavy support from pirate radio and Radio 1Xtra, the filthy basslines, funky beats and glossy production that form Dirty Pop's key elements have been widely credited with twisting RnB into a fresh new direction. Here at Positiva, we're loving it. Enjoy!

Moving from dance into rock and classical arrangements with ease, Paul has created a unique range of songs and styles that cement his status as the world’s leading electronic artist. Lead single from the album is ‘White Lies’, released on August 20th, featuring vocals from the seductive Jessica Sutta of Pussycat Dolls fame. With it’s up tempo electronic groove and first class production, ‘White Lies’ is undeniably one of PvD’s finest records to date. Check out the sexy new video on our website / Myspace pages – with a nod to the slick sophistication of fosse and the revival of burlesque, Jessica Sutta looks stunning.
Ferry Corsten gets Loud Electronic and Ferocious

'L.E.F' is Ferry's second album under his own name and the sound of an innovative artist at the top of his game. Ferrys sound is his own, developed beyond generic club tracks into startling electronic missives that have frequently taken hold of the mainstream and shaken it up. Featuring collaborations with Howard Jones and Guru (Gangstarr/Jazzmattaz) plus a faithful reworking of 808 States Cubik (Cubikated), this album sees him edge further leftfield, showing hes not afraid to delve into the darker reaches of the man/machine symbiosis. Wheras recent single, Fire, with Simon Le Bon on vocals, attest to this ability to write tracks that rock dancefloors, the airwaves, and the charts, in equal measure.Available on CD and Digital Download, Ferry Corsten "L.E.F." is released on Positiva Records July 17th.
