Too Naughty For TV?

Since emerging late last year, promotion of Toca's Miracle 2008 is going from strength to strength, systematically ticking off all the key areas you'd expect a potential hit record to be supported. In anticipation of it's release date, now the 7th April, Toca's Miracle can boast playlisting across all key radio networks including Radio 1, Kiss FM, Captial London, the GCap One Network (Music Control) and the Galaxy Network, helping to drive a play increase of over 20% (airplay this week jumps up to no.80).The promo video - which leaves little to the imagination - will be available for online hosting from March 13th, having by then received it's Online premier via Yahoo! UK & Ireland. Elsewhere in TV land the video has received great initial support with playlist additions from MTV Dance, The Box and Flaunt!, plus spot-play support on Smash Hits!. With the original cut being deemed too risque for daytime television, we now have two versions (daytime and night-time), available upon request. A preview to the video using an image from the behind-the-scenes picture shoot is attached.Elsewhere club support remains strong. Despite moving into commercial territory, the dominance of Toca's Miracle in clubland hasn't been ignored. The cream of the nation's DJs charted the record as their 'top tune' awarding the track the highest of dance record accolades; no.1 spots in both the Music Week Club & Pop Charts and the DMC Club & Mainstream Charts.

'The Journey Continues' Acoustic Version - stripped down and sounding stunning!

Another chapter in the evolving story of 'The Journey Continues' unfolds as St Etienne's Sarah Cracknell and classically trained soprano Jane Sheldon joined forces once more to record a breathtakingly sublime acoustic version of the much loved track (first featured in the Lloyds TSB adverts).
Last week London's Capital FM confirmed 'The Journey Continues' will be fully added to their playist after weeks of strong support via spot-plays. Building on this support, BBC's Radio 1 today announced that the record, featuring Sarah Cracknell on vocals, will rise to their A-list, recognising the potential for the record to strike a hit in the charts when it's fully released on the 4th February. Such support has been echoed by Radio 1's larger partner station, Radio 2, which also added Mark Brown's reworking of the Lloyds TSB ad music onto their C-list. With a combined listening audience in excess of 23 million, we can expect a dramatic leap in the radio airplay chart from the record's current position of no.127.In TV land, keen to satisfy audiences interest in seeing the stunning video for 'The Journey Continues' (links below), playlist additions were announced by The Box, The Hits, and Smash Hits!

Scott Mills has christened it his record of the week and itâs going down a storm in clubs all over the world. Flagged as one of the top 4 tracks of 2007 by number 1 DJ Armin Van Buuren, 'Anthem' is getting a hammering on the decks from some of dance musics elite, Pete Tong, Judge Jules, Riley & Durrant, Lange, Eddie Halliwell and our very own Paul van Dyk. Scheduled for release in December, could this be the track that gives whatever anodyne offering X Factor spews up a run for it's money?? Trance Vs. the musical equivalent of Angel Delight?! Bring it on. Dominic and Bo (a.k.a. Filo & Peri), and Eric Lumiere (guest vocalist on 'Anthem) are currently in the UK filming the accompanying video to their chart debut.. more news on this soon. We managed to hook up with the guys on set and film a very special video interview, to hear their thoughts on the top 100 DJ result, their least favourite record and what they have to say to trance fans who accuse them of selling out, visit www.trance.nu from Sunday 25th November. Finally, we can now confirm that 'Let Go', the 2nd single from the latest Paul van Dyk album, In Between', will be released on December 10th. Directed by Shaun Drake and shot in down town Los Angeles, the accompanying video is a fitting visual interpretation of Paul's polished production. In a nutshell, it looks great. Shaun Drake is renowned in his field, responsible for such video feats as Timbalands 'The Way I Are', Paramore's 'Crushcrushcrush' and Panic! At the Disco's 'I Write Sins and Tragedies', for which he won the 2006 MTV Video Music Award for Best Director. Check it out for yourself at www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgcMJXE9tYI

Elsewhere the video jumped from no.60 on the TV airplay charts to No.27 and got added to EMAP's 'The Hits' playlist. Including a replayed sample of Dee-lite's 'Groove Is In The Heart' this track looks set to become one of this years biggest releases. Block-rocking? Check. Rump-quivering? Check. I'm running out of superlatives here but you get the idea! We defy you not to cut a groove to this over the coming months. In fact, you can pick up some tips for getting your groove on from the tongue-in-cheek video (featuring the greatest dance-offs this side of the Atlantic), available to view on our official website and Myspace page over the next couple of weeks, we'll keep you posted. Downloads available from November 5th and available on CD / Vinyl from November 12th.

The Queen of Dirty Pop

Mr DJ', digitally released this week, sees a collaboration between Charlean Dance, legendary producer, Sticky, and Count De Money and is well-known at street level as one of the spearhead anthems paving the way for the UK's hottest new genre, Dirty Pop. Already the subject of much debate following recent media coverage and heavy support from pirate radio and Radio 1Xtra, the filthy basslines, funky beats and glossy production that form Dirty Pop's key elements have been widely credited with twisting RnB into a fresh new direction. Here at Positiva, we're loving it. Enjoy!

Rain, rain, go away

Summer has officially landed and it comes in the form of Axwell's scorching new single, ˜I Found U"! Bigger than Geoff Capes on a diet of Pukka Pies and, thankfully, infinitely more sexy, you can get your copy on August 13th. Added to the Radio 1 A-list and tearing up a sound system near you, ˜I Found U" represents all that is right with the world of house music. Recognised as one of the hottest house producers in the world right now, Axwell has come armed with an anthem of the highest calibre to conquer dance-floors worldwide. Check the awesome new video out for yourselves on our website / Myspace pages and feel the light! 1.36pm at Borough Bridge? You never know! Next up, it’s that time of year again. Yep, time to get down and dirty at the world’s undisputed heavyweight champion of Dance festivals! Global Gathering kicks off this Friday 27th July - and you can rest easy because we’re assured the site has been untouched by the bad weather and forecasts look sunny for the weekend ahead! We have three heavy weights of our own holding up the Positiva mantle, Paul van Dyk and Ferry Corsten will be rocking the main tents whilst The Shapeshifters will be heading up their very own stage, The Nocturnal Terrace, on Saturday! Join us for the party of the Summer as we celebrate life like only 75,000 loved-up revellers in a field know how! Once again, Radio 1 will be giving 9hours worth of unprecedented coverage so if you can’t make it in person to intoxicate yourself on immoral amounts of aural adventure, you can be there in spirit… See www.globalgathering.co.uk for tickets, or call the hotline on: 0871 789 1010.And finally, we’re very excited to announce the release of Paul Van Dyk’s fifth artist album, ‘In Between’, on August 27th, arguably his strongest body of work yet. Moving from dance into rock and classical arrangements with ease, Paul has created a unique range of songs and styles that cement his status as the world’s leading electronic artist. Lead single from the album is ‘White Lies’, released on August 20th, featuring vocals from the seductive Jessica Sutta of Pussycat Dolls fame. With it’s up tempo electronic groove and first class production, ‘White Lies’ is undeniably one of PvD’s finest records to date.
QUEEN VS THE MIAMI PROJECT 'ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST' RELEASED 18TH DECEMBER

Positiva closes 2006 with a rather special dancefloor anthem, Queen vs The Miami Project's 'Another One Bites The Dust'. This is the only official Queen remix available, and one that's been an international floor-filler for several months, following rigorous outings in Miami and then Ibiza. One of Queen's most well known songs, 'Another One Bites The Dust''has one of the biggest bass lines in rock music, hence the appeal to dance fans across the globe. Following WMC '06, the track was given the seal of approval from the remaining members of Queen, picked up by Positiva, and is now set to become a fully-fledged chart hit upon release. The remix is the work of The Miami Project, aka rising star producer, Cedric Gervais, and up and coming production outfit, Second Sun.

This year there was an astonishing 217,102 votes from 229 different countries which is very impressive considering there are only 243 recognised countries in the world!
Ferry Corsten gets Loud Electronic and Ferocious

'L.E.F' is Ferry's second album under his own name and the sound of an innovative artist at the top of his game. Ferrys sound is his own, developed beyond generic club tracks into startling electronic missives that have frequently taken hold of the mainstream and shaken it up. Featuring collaborations with Howard Jones and Guru (Gangstarr/Jazzmattaz) plus a faithful reworking of 808 States Cubik (Cubikated), this album sees him edge further leftfield, showing hes not afraid to delve into the darker reaches of the man/machine symbiosis. Wheras recent single, Fire, with Simon Le Bon on vocals, attest to this ability to write tracks that rock dancefloors, the airwaves, and the charts, in equal measure.Available on CD and Digital Download, Ferry Corsten "L.E.F." is released on Positiva Records July 17th.
