I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)

Positiva are proud to announce the signing of US smash hit "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)" by Pitbull. The record has just peaked on the US Billboard Top 100 chart at #4 and the Soundscan Single Chart at #2. It has sold just under 1 Million records in the US to date."I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” is an infectious club anthem. It cleverly meshes Reggaeton with a 4/4 House beat. At its core is an acoustic guitar, an infectious rhythm and the brass section sampled from Chicago's ‘Street Player (also sampled by The Bucketheads on "The Bomb"). Italy’s Nicola Fasano vs. Pat-Rich took the sample creating the track “75 Brazil Street” and then mashed it with Pitbull’s vocals. They created this massive US hit that looks set to do the same in the rest of the world. Growing up with the works of Cuban poet Jose Marti, Pitbull, also known by his fans as Mr. 305, blends his early lyrical influences with a Miami Bass sound. Pitbull made his debut on the 2002 Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz album "King of Crunk," and hasn’t stopped since. After appearing on The Fast and the Furious soundtrack in 2004, he released his debut album "M.I.A.M.I. "featuring the hit single “Culo” featuring Lil Jon. Pitbull was soon unstoppable, dropping two more albums in two years: "El Mariel" in 2006 and "The Boatlift" in 2007. He has also collaborated with some of the biggest names in the business including Lil Jon, Wyclef Jean, Carlos Ponce, Rick Ross, Don Omar, and Ying Yang Twins. He’s featured on numerous singles, including Daddy Yankee's "Gasolina" remix, DJ Khaled’s “Holla at Me" also featuring Lil Wayne, Paul Wall and Rick Ross, as well as the Ying Yang Twins' hit “Shake.” In 2008, Mr. 305 continued to drop hits, releasing Krazy” featuring Lil Jon. http://www.myspace.com/pitbull

Already an underground club hit, ‘D.J.’, is showing all the signs of becoming this summer’s first dance anthem. Benny Benassi has rewired David Bowie’s original 1979 single, ‘D.J.’, turning Bowie’s comment on late 70’s DJ culture, into a fired-up, ferociously addictive electro cut.
Longing Lullabies

Kleerup was half of the act responsible for the number 1 hit single, 'With Every Heartbeat'. The other half was of course the feisty asymetrically fringed Robyn . His melancholic electro-pop framed Robyn's ballad about break-up perfectly and secured it as one of the most prolific pop moments of 2007. As they wrote the song together they agreed call it 'Robyn with Kleerup' on her album and 'Kleerup with Robyn' on his album.
He is already a massive star in is native home having won no less than three awards (Best Newcomer, Best Composer and Best Producer) at Sweden's 2009 Grammis music awards recently (the equivalent of our Brits).
Ok, so he's huge back home, is mates with Robyn and has had a number one single in the UK. So what you may ask. Well this bearded lothario with grungy locks is about to embark on another assault of our shores with his own self-titled album.
'Kleerup' features collaborations with Lykke Li, Marit Bergman, Titiyo (Neneh Cherry's younger sister) and the of course includes his hit collaboration with Robyn. Kleerup's songs are a mixture of his familiar formula of electronica and Swedish female vocal. Good thing this is a formula with proven results as each one is pure electro-pop perfection.
The lead single with Titiyo, 'Longing For Lullabies' encapsulates his warm and melancholic sound flawlessly. On the flip side emotive 'Until We Bleed', Kleerup draws a surprisingly warm performance from the blog friendly Lykke Li. Plus there's a host of remixes that beef it up for the dancefloor from.
Available from May 17th, album release to follow on June 1st
CD1. With releases including ‘Dig This’ (the second track on their label, Heaven Recordings), and their remake of the 808 State classic, 'Pacific State', James Doman and Pete Gooding have earned the support of Carl Cox, Dubfire, Groove Armada, Sander Kleinenberg, Steve Lawler, Steve Angello, and others.
Everytime We Touch

‘Everytime We Touch’ is the sonic finale from David Guetta’s album ‘Poplife’, the long-player (his third) that’s brought him hits including ‘Love Is Gone’, ‘Love Don’t Let Me Go’, and ‘Baby When The Lights’. His own favourite from the album, ‘Everytime We Touch’ was written with long-term collaborator Chris Willis, and co-produced with Steve Angello and Seb Ingrosso, the infamous pairing from the Swedish House Mafia.Guetta’s now ranked No.5 in the Top 100 DJs Poll (up from No.10). He’s the highest placed house DJ yet again, and in a Top 10 brimming with trance talent, the accolade signifies that his take on house and electro is pushing him further into uncharted territory on an international scale –Youtube views of his music videos are now in excess of 50 million.A riotous 2008 has seen the son of Parisian intellectuals (ringleaders of the 1968 student uprising) continue to push boundaries. In addition to his own F*ck Me I’m Famous nights, and his Unighted event at Stade De France, his exploits have taken in We Love, Cocoon, Pacha, Ministry Of Sound, and those beneath-the-radar places that have yet to attract international renown, but still carry the spirit of the warehouse parties he and his wife, Cathy, spearheaded back when dance music was cutting its teeth.David’s just finished a sell-out US tour, ahead of several key UK dates. Gigging aside, work is well underway on his fourth album, which will feature some surprise guests from across the musical spectrum.Alongside Willis, David’s combined underground appeal with repeated mainstream success – the musical equivalent of splitting the atom. Joined by Angello and Ingrosso for ‘Everytime We Touch’, the result is as devastating as ever. Guetta’s trademark hooks and Chris’s vocal make this the perfect footnote to an album that’s delivered hit after hit.Remixes come from David Tort, In Petto, and Robbie Rivera. In addition, the package includes a remix from Crookers of album track, ‘Joan Of Arc’.

& Chris Willis vs. Tocadisco

The irrepressible Guetta returns to the dance-floor with the third smash taken from his PopLife album. Blending his pounding basslines with an acute pop sensibility the Parisian luminary proves yet again his credible dance-floor tracks have real mainstream appeal. One of dance music’s hottest properties David Guetta has built a reputation for being an unashamed star. His F*** me I’m Famous nights have injected much needed glamour back into dance music and the wave of support that has followed him across the globe has seen his unique party brand rise in popularity to stadium proportions including his infamous Unighted event at Stade De France. With recent single "Love Is Gone" becoming a huge airplay hit in the US this year, clocking up an incredible 20 million views on youtube along the way, ‘Tomorrow Can Wait’ is another classic slice of Guetta magic that reunites the all conquering crew that made the “Love Don’t Let Me Go” mash-up a world wide smash hit and changed the face of dance music. Co-produced with Tocadisco ‘Tomorrow Can Wait’ opens with incessant off beat percussion before the super soulful vocal of long time collaborator Chris Willis smashes into the mix with spine chilling effect, leaving you in no doubt that this is Guetta at his very best. With an infectious undulating bass-line that gets under your skin and works its way straight to your feet, ‘Tomorrow Can Wait’s staccato riffing is guaranteed to smash any self respecting dance-floor to pieces with explosive edits and a huge breakdown that drops hard and joyfully heavy before the track builds and builds again. There’s no more “living, working and waiting for the day” David Guetta is about to launch a truly spectacular piece of music so ‘Tomorrow Can Wait’

Positiva and Defected Records have announced a joint-venture deal for the release of Axwell & Bob Sinclar feat. Ron Caroll’s ‘What A Wonderful World’. Tipped as one of the biggest crossover dance records of 2008, ‘What A Wonderful World’ will receive a full release on 29th September (digital release 22nd September) on Positiva/Defected. ‘What A Wonderful World’ has already received considerable radio support from Radio 1’s Zane Lowe (‘Hottest Record In The World’) and Pete Tong (‘Essential New Tune’), Galaxy’s Sarah Main, and more, as well as club exposure from some of dance music’s biggest names. This is the first time Positiva and Defected have joined forces, mirroring the collaboration between both labels’ respective stars; Axwell has given Positiva chart hits including ‘Watch The Sunrise’ and 2007’s ‘I Found U’, while Frenchman Bob Sinclar has spent 8 highly successful years with Defected, enjoying Top 10 success with hits including ‘World Hold On’ and ‘Rock This Party’.The joint Swedish and French production comes with vocals courtesy of American singer/songwriter, Ron Carroll, responsible for house music staples such as ‘My Love’ and ‘Lucky Star’, and the man who wrote the lyrics to Barbara Tucker’s ‘Get Lifted’, a hit for Positiva in the mid-1990’s.Positiva director, Jason Ellis, said:“Ax & Bob have delivered the feel good hit of the summer, and we're delighted to be working alongside our friends at Defected Records to help secure its success in the UK.” Defected’s CEO, Simon Dunmore, said:“With the significant noise that ‘Wonderful World’ was making it was obviously going to be a competitive deal. Both artists have enormous loyalty to their labels so rather than the labels competing against each other the joint venture was the way to go. The buzz on the record is incredible so it is great to have twice the resources to get behind an exceptional collaboration."

Lola's Theme 2008 (Re-Edit)

2004, The Shapeshifters released "Lola's Theme". A defining moment in Dance Music and one that really kicked Dance Music up the preverbal arse in 2004. Everyone remembers the first time they heard that envious sample loop, that for us – hasn’t been replicated since. A relatively young one, but undoubtably a certified Classic.
It was never the plan to release this version, it was simply a personal DJ Tool the guys created to enable them to continue playing the single, but after a few plays in gigs around the globe, word was out and like a junkie needs a fix, the DJ fraternity were hunting and hounding for a copy.
So here we are 4 years on and proud to be involved with Part II of this tunes domination!
Lola's Theme (2008 Re-Edit) can be downloaded from Beatport

Everything's Gonna Be Alright

James Doman is Canada's next hottest export. As a DJ and producer his star is firmly in the ascendant, and his new bomb, 'Everything's Gonna Be Alright', released on Positiva in August, is set to make him a mainstay of the UK dance scene. Renowned for his melodic, uplifting house, James' various productions are currently being hammered by anyone ranging from Pete Tong, Dubfire, Axwell, Steve Angello, and Tiesto, to Judge Jules (on Radio 1), Andi Durrant and Sarah Main. 'Everything's Gonna Be Alright' has also picked up radio support from Radio 1’s Essential Selection, Steve Smart and Simon Dale on Kiss, Andi Durrant on Galaxy, and more. A major name on the Canadian scene, he’s forged a successful main room residency at Toronto’s world famous club, Circa (owned by North American club legend, Peter Gatien, and which immediately picked up several awards after opening), playing alongside international jocks, such as David Guetta, Morillo, and more. This summer, at Circa and beyond, he’ll be joining Tiesto, Danny Tenaglia, and Sebastian Leger, to name but a few.As would befit someone with world-class production skills, his approach to DJing somewhat mirrors that of James Zabiela. Doman uses the DJ booth like his studio, mixing live with Ableton and Serrato, while over 50% of his set is made up of re-edits and live bootlegs. The result is a unique performance that each week attracts 3500 clubbers onto Circa’s dancefloor.'Everything's Gonna Be Alright' is his take on Red Carpet's classic underground anthem, 'Alright'. James has reworked the original and dropped in the piano hook from Ce Ce Rogers 'Someday'. A guaranteed floorfiller, it’s been Tiesto's biggest record of the past 12 months - the Dutch superstar had the only copy - and is currently one of the most sought after tracks of the year. Expect to hear this at every major dance festival, club, and Ibiza night during summer '08.Remixes come from: Carl RydEn, J Majik & Wickaman, Nicole Moudaber, TS7, Soul Avengerz, Mat Bradshaw, and Franklin Reeves.

The Storm ft. Cozi

Straight off the bat like a World Series home run, Positiva prepares to smash another club anthem into the stands with Jerry Ropero feat. Cozi’s ‘The Storm’. Following this year’s crossover hits, Mark Brown feat. Sarah Cracknell’s ‘The Journey Continues’ and Fragma’s ‘Toca’s Miracle 2008’, this new vocal version of ‘The Storm’ is currently breaking across clubland, with specialist radio support coming from Radio 1’s Pete Tong, Kiss 100’s Steve Smart and Galaxy’s Andi Durrant, amongst others. Expect this to move effortlessly onto daytime schedules over the coming weeks.‘The Storm’ originally surfaced as an instrumental, receiving much love from DJs as diverse as Axwell, Tiesto, Erick Morillo, Ferry Corsten, David Guetta, Sebastian Ingrosso, and beyond. It’s primed for an attack on the charts with a vocal from Cozi (as featured on David Guetta's ‘Baby When The Light’) and a host of great new mixes. No stranger to crossover club hits, Jerry Ropero cut his production teeth with projects such as Natural Born Grooves (‘Groovebird’, ‘Forerunner’ and ‘Universal love’) and Avantgarde (‘Get Down’) in the '90's, and more recently he’s had much success as a remixer with studio partner Denis the Menace, adding his take on anthems from the likes of The Shapeshifters, Crystal Waters, Eric Prydz & Steve Angello, and more.Cozi Costi is the singer/songwriter behind a string of pop and dance crossover tracks. Influenced by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Ella Fitzgerald and Curtis Mayfield through to Jose Gonzales and Massive Attack via Prince, Sade and Annie Lennox, Cozi is widely recognized for her beautiful delivery. After being discovered and initially managed by Jamiroquai, Cozi has co-written with a host of artists, including Booty Luv, Melanie Blatt, Alex Gaudino and more. Alongside the radio edit, club mix, and instrumental are remixes from John Dahlback, Inpetto (the guys behind ‘Toca’s Miracle 2008’), and Dons & DBN.

Buy Now 'Body Crash'

Mix together two parts Swedish House Mafia aka Buy Now aka Steve
Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso, crush together with ice-cool electronic
bleeps, a wild bassline, and a devastating vocal hook, and serve to a
worldwide rapturous response from the likes of Pete Tong, Zane Lowe,
Annie Mac, Erol Alkan, Soulwax, David Guetta, Felix Da Housecat, and
more.Hearing 'Body Crash' suggests that the Weathermen's
dastardly plan to release psychedelics into the American water supply
was off by a few years and several thousand miles. Although perfectly
compos mentis, you do wonder what goes through the minds of Angello and
Ingrosso when holed up in their studio.Perhaps it's some
deal-breaking Faustian pact, but the pair's uncanny ability to produce
monumental dance records has created an enviable discography. The Buy
Now alias has already produced the monstrous 'For Sale', while 2007
alone saw the likes of 'Umbrella', 'Get Dumb', and 'Be' become
worldwide anthems, alongside remixes for Hard Fi, Felix Da Housecat
feat. Diddy, Moby, and Royksopp. For 'Body Crash' they've taken
a dusty old hook ('Let's All Chant') and thrust it kicking and bleeping
into some insanely catchy 21st century electronica. Something of an
irrepressible dancefloor beast, its about to slay daytime radio, having
torn apart nighttime and specialist schedules over the past few months.
Radio 1, Kiss, Galaxy, XFM, and other stations have this earmarked as a
landmark record for 2008, and why not, tracks like this come around but
once a year. Both Steve and Seb spent 2007 "on the road". Their
travels included a season in Ibiza that saw them bring down the house
at Pure Pacha, Subliminal, and Fuck Me I'm Famous, as well as playing
after Sasha at Amnesia for Radio 1's Ibiza party. This year they'll be
taking the island head on, opening the season for Pure Pacha....playing
at Space.....Amnesia. The Swedish House Mafia will take over Subliminal
at Pacha, Pure Pacha, and Amnesia (main room) for one night only.Remixes come from Dirty South, Laidback Luke, Burns and Streetlife DJ's.

Essential Club Anthems

A decade and a half in the driving seat of British dance music has afforded Positiva an impressive pedigree. With over 11 million singles sold to date, including 6 No.1’s, 41 Top 10’s, and a staggering 133 Top 40 singles, EMI’s dance imprint has embedded itself into the nation’s clubbing consciousness for eternity.<p>
‘Essential Club Anthems’ is the definitive 3 disc compilation of the label’s biggest hits. Brimming with anthems from Axwell, Spiller, Fragma, The Source, The Bucketheads, Room 5, The Shapeshifters, Eric Prydz vs Floyd, Deep Dish, Paul van Dyk, Mark Brown featuring Sarah Cracknell, and many more, it’s a must-have for anyone who’s stepped onto a dancefloor in the past 15 years.
In its time, Positiva has stopped a former Spice Girl from reaching No.1, sent drum & bass into the Top 10, and every summer transforms Ibiza’s biggest tunes into bona fide chart toppers. The label regularly propels the latest waves of club culture onto daytime radio and television, helping set trends, and in the process establishing the careers of some of dance music’s biggest artists.
Positiva gave Erick Morillo his first UK chart success via Reel II Reel, it broke trance into the mainstream during the heady days of the late 1990’s, when the genre helped create the Crasher kid phenomenon (and later with Ferry Corsten and Paul van Dyk), and it was at the forefront of the early Noughties house explosion when The Shapeshifters became No.1 heroes, and Deep Dish, broke the Top 5. Last year’s ‘I Found U’ from label hotshot, Axwell, broke all the barriers within clubland, finally storming to No.6 in the UK singles charts and establishing itself as the biggest club record of 2007. This year’s gems from Mark Brown feat Sarah Cracknell, and Fragma’s ‘Toca’s Miracle 2008’ are but the latest in a long line of massive
Across 3 CDs, tracks and artists include Axwell feat. Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s ‘Groovejet’, ‘‘You’ve Got The Love’ from The Source feat. Candi Staton, Buckethead’s ‘The Bomb’, Shy FX & T Power feat. Di, ‘Shake UR Body’, Eric Prydz vs Floyd’s ‘Another Brick In The Wall’, Paul van Dyk’s ‘The Other Side’, Boris Dlugosch & Roisin Murphy’s ‘Never Enough’, the future anthem from Jerry Ropero feat.
Toca's Miracle 2008

So, Fragma 'Toca's Miracle 2008' - where shall we start? Capital radio B-List 8 weeks upfront? Kiss playlist 2 months before release? Massive Radio 1 support? The fact world-leading DJs such as Armin van Buuren, Erick Morillo, Paul van Dyk, David Morales, John 'O Callaghan, Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto, and many more have been blowing the roof off of every major international club with it in the past few months? Or that clubbers have inundated Youtube in their thousands with their own mobile phone club footage of dancefloors erupting to its anthemic tones?Originally a No.1 UK single for Positiva in 2000, selling over half a million copies, Fragma's 'Toca's Miracle' spliced their No.11 hit, 'Toca Me', with Coco's 'I Need A Miracle'. The track has fast become a crossover dance anthem once again via some fantastic late Noughties mixes courtesy of In Petto, aka the Duderstadt brothers, Dirk and Marco, two thirds of Fragma alongside electronic legend, Ramon Zenker (Hardfloor, and a countless number of pseudonyms). Fragma bagged several UK hit singles and a gold disc for their debut album, 'Toca', in 2000/2001 (as well as topping charts in Australia, Ireland, Scandinavia, and many other countries); they're back with new material this year, having enjoyed a hiatus while both the Duderstadt brothers and Ramon continued their assault on worldwide dancefloors under different guises – including Zenker's return with Hardfloor to the live scene. Uplifting, melodic, and with more than enough of a twist to make it sound fresh all over again, 'Toca's Miracle 2008' is an anthem for most, and a guilty pleasure for the rest. Testing fantastically well across national and regional radio, the response to date has been nothing short of amazing. Matching the near universal appeal of the 2008 version, the In Petto mixes are joined by remixes from all ends of the clubbing spectrum - Vandalism, Hed Kandi resident, Wez Clarke, Wideboys (with a bassline mix), Richard Durrand, Loverush UK! and Alex K, all come up trumps.Look out for Positiva's 15th Anniversary compilation featuring 3 cds of the best dance hits from two decades of clubbing - out 14th April!

The Journey Continues

5th December 2007 – In response to huge public demand 4th February, 2008 will see the full commercial single release of The Journey Continues (containing the music from the massively popular Lloyds TSB TV ad campaign) on Positiva Records now featuring a sublime vocal from St Etienne’s Sarah Cracknell.Since its launch in February 2007, the 3-D adverts from the Lloyds TSB "For the Journey..." TV campaign have been viewed more than 450,000 times on websites including You Tube and Kontraband. The latest advert in the series has recently launched on TV and continues the theme that has proved so popular since the campaign’s launch. Unprecedented interest in the music from the advert has subsequently led to thousands of hits and enquiries from the general public on their website www.lloydstsb.com/forthejourney aswell as in Lloyds TSB branches nationwide. The original classical piece of music featured in the Lloyds TSB TV advert (placed in the ad by leading Classical Music Publishers Boosey & Hawkes) "Eliza Aria", from the "Wild Swans" Suite by Australian composer Elena Kats Chernin and featuring soprano Jane Sheldon has now been imaginatively remodelled and remixed by top dj/producer(one half of M.Y.N.C Project) and head of Cr2 Records, Mark Brown. Mark has successfully created a contemporary crossover pop/dance electronic record that is already tipped to be a massive smash hit single and now features a superb vocal from legendary St Etienne vocalist Sarah Cracknell that is already gaining widespread national radio support from amongst others Pete Tong and Jo Whiley at Radio 1.Sarah Cracknell said: "Mark Brown played me the mix he'd done and I immediately thought I could add something to it. The melody and words came very easily and I was led by the wonderful atmosphere that the song evoked"Speaking of the collaboration Cr2 Records Head Mark Brown said: "This is a dream come true to be allowed to reproduce and release this stunning piece of music. People all over the UK have connected with this piece of music, so to give it a full contemporary release is very special to me. I’ve tried to be as respectful as possible to the original music which has now been perfectly complemented by Sarah’s sublime vocal. It’s also an honour to work with Lloyds TSB in a strategic way like this. They have been so open to turning this into a sublime piece of electronic music."The creative fusing of classical and electronic music along with an open minded approach by one of the UK’s biggest High St banks, Lloyds TSB marks a unique collaboration of three normally unrelated worlds.Speaking about the collaboration, original music composer Elena Kats Chernin, said:"I'm thrilled about the remixes of Eliza Aria. It's great to hear my music given new life and fresh perspectives, as I've always found cross-genre collaborations exciting and inspiring."Commenting on the remix of the music featured in their advert, Lloyds TSB’s Nigel Gilbert, group marketing director, said: "Eliza Aria is a wonderfully original and beautiful piece of music. It’s great that so many people have been touched by it having heard our ads and we are delighted that this new single version will bring it to an even wider audience."

Anthem

The biggest record of this year for DJs including Paul van Dyk, Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Judge Jules, and many more – with Jules and David Pearce stating so live on Radio 1, Filo & Peri featuring Eric Lumiere's aptly titled, 'Anthem' has built into a crossover-beckoning floorfiller for the past few months, and with the biggest hands-in-the-air 'strumdown' this side of Pink Floyd's 'Wish You Were Here', it's set to become the soundtrack to New Year Eve 2007.Licensed from Paul van Dyk's Vandit Records to Positiva for a full commercial release, it comes with new mixes from Cicada, Thomas Gold, and more. While its unashamedly uplifting melodies won't please the chin-stroking sensibilities of some of the old folks found in dance music's playground, it's the one that's doing it for the kids (check out the numerous Youtube and similar clips from the likes of Global Gathering, SW4, Ibiza, and beyond). No strangers to big records themselves, Filo & Peri have carved a formidable reputation. The New York natives have rocked dancefloors at home and abroad for the past three years.
Let Go

'Let Go' is the new single from Paul van Dyk's recent album, 'In Between'. 'No.1 on the iTunes Dance album chart, it was heralded by the dance and mainstream press, and is van Dyk's fifth artist long-player, and further cemented 2007 as another fantastic year for the Grammy nominee. In the UK, Paul headlined festivals such as Global Gathering and the Metro Weekender with artists such as Basement Jaxx and Faithless, while playing alongside the likes of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Depeche Mode and Justin Timberlake at US events including Coachella. And in the run-up to the release of 'Let Go', Paul has once again sold out his UK shows, including a capacity event at London's Koko.'Let Go' is a classic slab of pure PvD and a favourite from his club sets (the reaction to the live version at SW4 will no doubt stick in the mind for some time). Vocals come from Rea Garvey of German guitar heroes, Reamonn. TRL sensation Shane Drake has been brought on board to direct the video that was shot in downtown Los Angeles. Drake has quickly become Hollywood's leading music video director for his outstanding work on such videos as Timbaland's 'The Way I Are', Paramore's 'Crushcrushcrush' and Panic! At the Disco's 'I Write Sins and Tragedies' for which he won the 2006 MTV Video Music Award for Best Director. The musical depth of 'In Between' is testament to the strength of van Dyk's writing and production, moving from dance into rock and classical arrangements with ease. Collaborators on this musical tour-de-force include David Byrne (Talking Heads), Jessica Sutta from Pussycat Dolls (on current single 'White Lies'), Ashley Tomberlin (Luminary), Alex M.O.R.P.H, Lo Fi Sugar, Rea Garvey (Reamonn), Ryan Merchant and Wayne Jackson. PvD's hugely successful recording career matches any of dance music's biggest stars, enjoying consistent album-sales in numerous territories, while the queues outside any event bearing his name tell their own story. Paul received Berlin's Medal of Honor in recognition of his work with Ruckenwind, a partnership scheme with the German Red Cross that helps poor and disadvantaged children in Berlin. He joins a distinguished list of arts and political establishment figures with this honour. The mix package for 'Let Go' includes a Vandit Club Mix, PvD Club Mix and PvD Club Mix Instrumental, plus remixes from Alex Kunnari, TV Rock, and Martin Roth.

Like This Like That

This, ladies and gentleman, is something of a biggie. From Miami to Ibiza and Notting Hill Carnival, the bat-eared amongst you will already have cut a groove to SE:SA's thunderous ragga-house anthem 'Like This, Like That'. With a full release with new remixes courtesy of dance giants, Positiva, expect this to follow the label's recent smash, Axwell's 'I Found U', into the highest echelons of the charts. The roll-call of heavy radio support includes Radio 1, Kiss, Galaxy, XFM, and more. Top jocks like Bob Sinclar, Roger Sanchez, Pete Tong, Trophy Twins, Michael Gray, Micky Slim, and others, have been making it a key track in their sets, and with a video set to propel it across all TV stations and online platforms, this winter warmer will be with us right up to New Year.'Like This, Like That' (which includes a replayed sample from Dee-lite's 'Groove Is In The Heart') is the work of top German producers, Syke & Sugarstar (of 'Danz' and 'All Together' fame), and originally surfaced as an instrumental at the beginning of 2007. The pair and co-producer, the mighty Mousse T, then brought in vocalist, Sharon Phillips, whose tracks 'Touch Me' and 'Want 2 Need 2' (and their accompanying mixes from Tiefschwarz and Trentemoller) swept dancefloors last year. Phillips unmistakable vocal touch became the finishing touch to this block-rocking, rump-quivvering anthem, and 'Like This, Like That', has been building into one of the years bigger tracks ever since.Remixes include a startling reworking from rising stars, Sinden and Herve (under his Count of Monte Cristal guise). Fresh from their DJ magazine cover, which proclaimed the pair as the brightest stars of UK dance music, they've ground out a stunning rerub. Elsewhere on the mix package, Alex Gaudino, Leggz & Femi B, and new outfit, Drive, get to grips with 'Like This, Like That's' restless groove to startling effect.

'New Day' is the eagerly awaited second taste of The Shapeshifters' forthcoming new album, set for release in early 2008. The finishing touches are currently being put on the long-player, as Britain's most promising live dance band celebrate their headline live performances at the Metro Weekender (SW4) and Global Gathering in Turkey.Amongst their numerous DJ set highlights, which included rocking Turnmills to its very core with their recent Nocturnal event, and Pacha, Ibiza with The Shapeshifters Soundsystem, the boys had their own outdoor stage at Global Gathering, welcoming Nocturnal Groove's roster including Martijn Ten Velden and Radio 1's Trophy Twins, to the UK's biggest dance music festival and entertaining a large and loyal following despite the pouring rain! The next day saw them leave the muddy festival for Jodie Kidd's Cartier party at the Guard's Polo Tournament, where they tore the roof off with a barnstorming live set.New bandmate and friend Jenna G joined the group in late 2006. During the course of writing the last album, and the eureka moment of her performance with Simon and Max at SW4 and Global Gathering in summer 2006, it became apparent that Jenna's future lay as a fulltime member. On the extended version and radio edit, 'New Day's' outstanding production and devastating hook is crowned by Jenna's soaring vocals. As always Simon and Max's own Nocturnal mix is one for the dancefloor, again demonstrating that within the world's house community, they can always be relied upon to push musical boundaries. Now represented by one of the world's leading live entertainment companies, William Morris Associates, for live performances, further gigs and tours are planned in preparation for the album's release and will run well into 2008.

Mr DJ

Urban London's new heroine, Charlean Dance is a young singer and songwriter credited with spearheading the UK's hottest new genre, dirty pop. Already the subject of much debate following recent media coverage and heavy support from pirate radio and Radio 1Xtra, the filthy basslines, funky beats and glossy production that form dirty pop's key elements have been widely credited with twisting RnB into a fresh new direction. At street level, 'Mr DJ' is well-known as one of the leading dirty pop anthems, and after some intense bidding between a number of labels it's now been signed to Positiva for a full commercial release. The work of Charlean, renowned producer Sticky, and Count De Money, it's bearing all the hallmarks of a 24-carat crossover. But dirty pop isn't about the bling, it's about the music. Sticky's production is the perfect backing to Charlean's vocals, which add the glamour to his grinding beats. It's tracks such as 'Mr DJ' that have begun to erode the USA's musical dominance over London's urban clubland, giving way to a new sound, courtesy of Brit figures such as Sticky, JC, and DJ Cameo. What originated in a handful of clubs including Work and Liquid across London, the Midlands, and as far away as Wales, is now burgeoning into a genre in its own right, with London's fashion and music crowd switching venues to chase it. This summer, the Dirty Pop tour will visit over 1000 UK and European clubs, and began with a complete roadblock at the official launch party at London's Funky Buddah in May. The tour will feature DJs including Cameo, Ace & Vis and Swerve.Charlean's been a dedicated songwriter since an early age, and her background as a leading DJ, spinning a slick mix of RnB, ragga, hip-hop, garage, and urban house, has seen her play across London and now the world. Sticky, aka Richard Forbes, needs little introduction. The legendary UK urban music figure has spent his life on the cutting edge, and helped forge the careers of Miss Dynamite, Stush, Lethal B and many more. A heavyweight remix package includes re-rubs from Speakerjunk, Paleface, and JC Productions.

In Between

'In Between' is Paul van Dyk's fifth artist album, and cements the Grammy nominee's status as the world's leading electronic artist. This year's performances alongside the likes of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Depeche Mode, and Justin Timberlake at US events including Coachella, and headline festival slots with artists such as Basement Jaxx and Faithless in the UK have placed him in a unique position on the world stage. The musical depth of 'In Between' is testament to the strength of van Dyk's writing and production, moving from dance into rock and classical arrangements with ease. He's created a range of songs and styles that combine to form his strongest body of work yet. Collaborators on this musical tour-de-force include David Byrne (Talking Heads), Jessica Sutta from Pussycat Dolls (on current single 'White Lies'), Ashley Tomberlin (Luminary), Alex M.O.R.P.H, Lo Fi Sugar, Rea Garvey (Reamonn), Ryan Merchant and Wayne Jackson. PvD's hugely successful recording career matches any of dance music's biggest stars, enjoying consistent album-sales in numerous territories, while the queues outside any event bearing his name tell their own story.Paul recently received Berlin's Medal of Honor in recognition of his work with Ruckenwind, a partnership scheme with the German Red Cross that helps poor and disadvantaged children in Berlin. He joins a distinguished list of arts and political establishment figures with this honour. His political activism stems from a childhood spent in East Germany, when as a young teen he fled over the Berlin Wall to the West. Paul has held memorable television debates with East German Communist Party leaders, supports a children's charity in India's Mumbai, and lent his time and efforts to the US Rock The Vote campaign, where he joined the likes of P Diddy, the Black Eyed Peas and George Clinton.

Its up tempo electronic groove, A-grade production, and Sutta's unique vocal touch make this one of PvD's finest records to date. Pete Tong has led the charge, giving the first exclusive play as part of a special "In New Music We Trust" biography of Paul's career. Radio 1 also asked Paul to present his own show, deputising for Eddie Halliwell in June, the programme featured tracks from the album and 3 exclusive mixes done for the station.
I Found U

When it comes to the definition of an anthem, this single has practically re-written the rulebook....Axwell's 'I Found U' is fast becoming the soundtrack to the summer of love '07. It's been both Zane Lowe's Hottest 'Record In The World' and an Essential New Tune on Radio 1, a top flyer in the Buzz and Cool Cuts from a limited promo mailout, and DJs such as Zane Lowe, Jo Whiley, Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Trophy Twins, The Shapeshifters, Bob Sinclar, David Guetta, and many more, are all in support.'I Found U' twists rave pianos, soul and electro into an all-dancefloor-conquering smash. Such genre-defying dexterity could only come from one of the world's leading producers, Axwell, and follows the young Swede's last hit single for Positiva, the reggae-tinged houser, 'Watch The Sunrise'. Axwell's 2007 has already been what journalists like to call a whirlwind year - in addition to a bevy of underground nuggets, he's remixed the likes of Bob Sinclar ('I Feel For You') and Faithless ('Music Matters'), following previous high-profile re-stylings for Madonna ('Jump'), Hard Fi ('Hard To Beat'), Nelly Furtado ('Promiscuous'), Usher, N.E.R.D, Moby, and many more. Add into the equation a DJ itinerary that reads like a pilot's monthly flight schedule – Miami, Paris, Barcelona, Moscow, Ibiza and such far-flung locations as Australia, South Africa, and even Morocco and Algeria - and the facts speak for themselves – Axwell is going places in every sense.'I Found U' features Finnish-based US singer, Max'C, who provides a superlative soul vocal. Axwell's mixes include the lead Remode mix (also the radio edit version), and a classic soul house mix for more traditional floors.

With 4 hit singles and an acclaimed debut long-player, 'Sound Advice', under their belts, The Shapeshifters return with new single, 'Pusher', ahead of their eagerly awaited second album, 'Do Not Disturb' in September. 'Pusher's' punchy electronic groove signals a fresh direction for the band, with the high level of song-writing and production you'd expect from the Brit Award nominees. Within hours of its delivery to key radio stations, the track received heavy plays from Radio 1, with Pete Tong debuting the single and the Trophy Twins making it their 'One For The Weekend', resulting in several plays across the station's schedule. Kiss quickly following suit, making it a Floorfiller and giving it a prime airing on Steve Smart's show.New bandmate and friend Jenna G joined the group in late 2006. During the course of writing the last album, and the eureka moment of her performance with Simon and Max at SW4 and Global Gathering in summer 2006, it became apparent that Jenna's future lay as a fulltime member (which couldn't happen on the first album due to her own commitments).Following their much hailed live debut at last year's SW4 festival, The Shapeshifters will embark on a lengthy live tour including high-profile dates at Global Gathering, SW4, Wakestock, and many more. Now represented by one of the world's leading entertainment companies, William Morris Associates, for live performances, further gigs will run into 2008.

Everytime I See Her (Sound Of Eden)

If you've had your ears anywhere near a dancefloor in the past few months, then you can't fail to have heard one of clublands biggest anthems, Another Chance's 'Every Time I See Her (Sound Of Eden)'. A cover of Shades Of Rhythm's rave classic, 'Sound Of Eden', this is simply one of dance music's hottest records right now. From the same outfit that brought you Bodyrox's 'Yeah Yeah', the fired up electro anthem that hit No.2 in the national charts in January, Another Chance is Jon Pearn (of Full Intention fame) and Nick Bridges' other production project, with Abigail Bailey and Xavier Barnet providing the new vocals.Jon, who as one half of dance legends, Full Intention, has released some of the UK's finest house music in their 11-year career, joined forces with rising star, Nick Bridges, back in 2005. Nick, who holds residencies at both Ministry Of Sound and Fabric (DTPM), has held the rare title of MOS's World Tour Resident, where he flew out every week spreading dance music's message across the globe. Together they run Juki Records, the well-respected imprint for all things jacking house.'Sound Of Eden' was released at the height of the rave era in 1991, but this version isn't for 'acid house mums and dads' looking for a misty-eyed trip down memory lane. Another Chance have taken the track and given it a rigorous reworking for the Noughties dancefloor, although staying faithful to the original's best elements (hello vocals and piano break). Its electro-influenced, jacking vibe has given the track a whole new meaning, opening it up to the scores of teen ravers now filling the nation's clubs.

Feelin' Me

Therese is the Queen of the Swedish dance mafia, the North European contingent who between them have taken electro pop back to the top of the charts and to the heart of the UK's dancefloors. She's a chanteuse par excellence, a one-woman CPR unit here to resuscitate pop's dormant body.'Feelin' Me' is the kind of highly charged electronic pop that Therese is famous for. Boys and their guitars might have taken a brief hold of the good ship 'Pop', but it's time to light the touch paper and repel all boarders – it's about to get exciting again.Therese's two British Top 10 National Chart hits, 'Put 'Em High' and 'Take Me Away', with producer Stonebridge, began a love affair with the UK that resulted in her making London her permanent home. Now signed to Positiva Records, she's about to unleash her biggest single yet and make 2007 her year.Therese has forged a career studded with platinum and gold disc awards in her native land, making her one of Sweden's most well known celebrities. Across the pond, her first US success came with the release of 'Time' in 2004, when the single spent 12 weeks in the Billboard dance radio airplay Top 20. Since her chart success with Stonebridge, Therese has co-written with Dannii Minogue & Rob Davis on the No.1 Club Chart topping / number 11 UK National hit "Perfection", and Klaas Baggstrom on "Good Times (by Dannii Minogue - as featured on her Hits & Beyond album). Therese also found time to headline the recent 2006 Sydney / Australian Mardi Gras event.

In Love With You

Atrium's 'In Love With You' is one of the most emotive slabs of dance music you'll hear all year. With echoes of Donna Summer and Everything But The Girl, 'In Love With You' stands way above the current crop of cheap and cheerful dancefloor fare. Heavyweight DJ support comes from the likes of Pete Tong, Deep Dish, Joey Negro, Fedde Le Grand, and many more, and with 'crossover' written throughout the record like a stick of rock, expect the charts to fall for this little beauty too. What else would you expect from a collaboration between two of dance music's production heavyweights and a sublime vocal talent? Both Paul Harris (formerly of Grammy Winners Dirty Vegas, Hydrogen Rockers, and all round good egg) and Steve Mac (ex-Rhythm Masters, cult producer, and the man mainstream acts come to for the perfect club remix) have etched their contributions to dance culture on the eardrums of millions, and with the addition of TJ Davis (Shiva, D:Ream, Gary Numan, Bjorn Again) they look set to enjoy yet more success.Paul cut his club teeth as a teenager, spinning at legendary nights run by the likes of Paul Oakenfold, Nicky Holloway, and Philip Salon. From there it's been some trip: he became one of the 1990's most in-demand guest DJs, playing a major role in creating UK club culture as it stands today. He remains a mainstay behind the decks at many a high-end fashion party including the numerous Fashion Weeks across Europe, and he's appeared on US TV shows such as David Letterman and Jay Leno, following his Grammy Award with acclaimed dance act, Dirty Vegas.Steve is hailed as one of the UK's leading dance production talents. Alongside former Rhythm Master cohort, Rob Chetcuti, Steve was credited as one of Music Week's Top 5 remixers of the 1990's, not bad for an outfit that had only hit pay dirt in the latter part of the decade. Now recognised for making some of the finest underground cuts of the last few years, Steve's completed projects with the likes of Nic Fancuilli, Paul Woolford, Mark Knight, and Pete Tong.'In Love With You' comes with remixes from Mark Knight, Eric Smax & Thomas Gold, Robbie Rivera, and Steve and Paul respectively.

Another One Bites The Dust

Positiva closes 2006 with a rather special dancefloor anthem, Queen vs The Miami Project's 'Another One Bites The Dust'. This is the only official Queen remix available, and one that's been an international floor-filler for several months, following rigorous outings in Miami and then Ibiza. The DJ support on this record is simply huge – Pete Tong on Radio 1? Check. Deep Dish? Check. Erick Morillo? Check. David Guetta? Check. Sander Kleinenberg? Check? XFM boys James Hyman and Eddie Temple-Morris? Check. And that's not all; in fact, the list of heavyweights would take up the rest of this press release, and then some. One of Queen's most well known songs, 'Another One Bites The Dust' has one of the biggest bass lines in rock music, hence the appeal to dance fans across the globe. Following WMC '06, the track was given the seal of approval from the remaining members of Queen, picked up by Positiva, and is now set to become a fully-fledged chart hit upon release. The remix is the work of The Miami Project, aka rising star producer, Cedric Gervais, and up and coming production outfit, Second Sun. Gervais, known to most UK clubbers as the man who's rocked Space, Miami as a resident since 2004, began his DJing career while his peers were still popping pimples. A young prodigy behind the decks, he learnt his craft as a resident at Paris' infamous club Queen, picking up tips from the likes of Carl Cox and Laurent Garnier. On the production front, he's worked with names ranging from Peter Rauhofer and Dirty Vegas, to Duran Duran and Lenny Kravitz. His own work though, encapsulated on his recent album, Experiment, has become front of box material for top names ranging from Morillo and Deep Dish, to Roger Sanchez and beyond.Canada's Second Sun, aka Antoine and Adam, first came to the attention of Paul van Dyk, the world's biggest DJ and producer in 2003, when they released a slew of productions on his label and collaborated with him on his Grammy nominated album, 'Reflections'. Since that time, they've relocated to Miami, and become one of the US music media's most heralded live dance acts. They've recently remixed The Shapeshifters, Sander Kleinenberg, and Sharam's 'P.A.T.T', and been a regular feature on Pete Tong's Radio 1 show.
